Newsboys to perform at Potter Center with guests, Alive City
March 17, 2025

Get ready for an exciting night of music with a message when the Potter Center at Jackson College welcomes multi-platinum Christian rock band Newsboys with special guest Alive City at 7 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
With a career that spans decades, Newsboys has established themselves as an undeniable force in Christian music. The band has amassed an impressive catalog of hits including “We Believe,” “Magnetic,” “Born Again,” and their Platinum-certified anthem “God’s Not Dead,” which inspired a successful film franchise.
Newsboys’ dedication to their faith-driven mission remains unwavering despite lineup changes over the years. Current members Duncan Phillips, Jeff Frankenstein, Jody Davis, and Adam Agee continue to boldly proclaim their message through their music. As the band states, “In the midst of a world rattled by political tension, war, hunger, and mental health struggles, we’re here to be loud about our faith and the God we serve. We’re here to be conduits of something special, and to share what we believe with whoever will listen.”
Throughout their storied career, Newsboys have sold more than 10 million albums across 24 studio recordings. Their achievements include one RIAA Double Platinum® and eight RIAA Gold® certifications, 33 #1 radio hits, four GRAMMY® nominations, two American Music Award® nominations, and multiple Gospel Music Association Dove® awards.
Opening will be Alive City, an innovative Christian band led by siblings Zach and Maddy from Detroit, who won the 2018 CFA Battle of the Bands and have amassed over 40 million streams. They handle all aspects of their music production independently, creating a genre-defying sound that breaks conventional Christian music norms. The band is versatile, delivering both energetic performances and intimate worship experiences, drawing from their church service background. Their influence extends to mainstream media, with songs featured on “Dude Perfect” and their hit “Only Ever” exceeding 15 million Spotify streams.
Tickets for this inspirational evening of music start at $25 and are available online at https://www.jccmi.edu/pottercenter/newsboys/ or by calling 517.796.8600.
