Jackson College Pop-Up Ceramics: Pottery Wheel for Beginners

DATES: July 10 & 24, 5:30-9 p.m.

AGES: 16 and up

DESCRIPTION: Discover the ancient art of pottery as our skilled instructors lead you through the process of hand-building and wheel-throwing your own ceramic pots. Dive into the world of glazes and surface decorations as you add your personal touch to your creations, whether it’s a rustic vase for your home or a decorative planter for your favorite plant. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned ceramicist, this workshop offers a hands-on experience that will ignite your passion for ceramics and leave you with functional and beautiful pieces to cherish for years to come. Join us and unleash your creativity in clay! Projects will be created on day 1. Before day 2, our instructor will fire the project in our on-campus kiln. Day 2 students will complete the glaze process. Instructions for picking up your project will be discussed at the workshop.

LOCATION: The STEAM Factory (TSF) Ceramics Studio Room 105, Jackson College Central Campus

  • Be sure to wear appropriate attire for working with clay and bring your own apron.
