Edustaff Higher Education Employee of the Month, November 2024 — Dharmesh Gada

December 5, 2024

Edustaff would like to congratulate Dharmesh Gada, who has been chosen as the Higher Education Employee of the Month for November. Dharmesh has been working at Jackson College in Jackson, Michigan, for 17 years, with the past nine of those years being spent as an Edustaff employee. He teaches statistics and probability.

Lisa Fellows, a math instructor at the college, recommended Dharmesh for the honor. She said he has taught both on campus and inside local prisons for the college’s Corrections Education Program, and routinely stays past class time to help students and answer questions.

“He is passionate about teaching, very knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about student success,” she said. “We could not do our job without him!”

Dharmesh said working in the Corrections Education Program is amazingly rewarding. He formerly taught on Jackson College’s Central and Adrian campuses, but took up the job of working in the prisons as a new opportunity in the teaching world. There are typically a couple hundred students taking part in the program at any given time, and he gets a chance to teach most of them, he said.

“You get that sense of accomplishment when you are instructing them and guiding them to get their associate’s degree,” he said.

When he’s not teaching, Dharmesh loves to travel, go hiking and take photographs.

“I love taking pictures of nature in general, so a lot of times, on my time off, I go hiking and take pictures of animals, birds, or just anything in nature.”

He gives credit for his success to his wife, Tammy, a three-time cancer survivor.

“She has been my biggest supporter all my life,” he said.

Thank you, Dharmesh, for everything that you do!
