Pre-Algebra

(FORMERLY MTH 098) This course reviews the arithmetic of fractions, decimals and signed numbers with applications. Students will learn the mathematics of proportion and percent with applications, basic statistical graphs and charts, geometry and measurement (including the metric system), and introductory algebraic concepts. The mathematics department recommends that the prerequisite not be more than two years old. If the prerequisite is more than two years old, the recommendation is course placement assessment be taken or the prerequisite be retaken to ensure the success of the student.
