Jackson College invites parents to bring their youngsters to a HealthWise “Sparkling Smiles” event, a free dental screening & educational event designed for future kindergarteners, Tuesday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Justin Whiting Hall! Considering Governor Whitmer’s recently enacted law requiring dental evaluations for children entering kindergarten, the College is hosting a special, free event to provide screenings.
This initiative is part of our commitment to supporting the new law and ensuring every child starts their educational journey with a healthy smile. Our dedicated dental clinic dentists will be providing complimentary dental evaluations for all attending children. In addition, JC dental hygiene students, under the supervision of JCDH registered dental hygienists, will perform any necessary dental x-rays. As time allows, cleanings and fluoride treatments will also be provided to ensure comprehensive dental care.
But the fun does not stop at the evaluations! Our kindergarten explorers will be able to navigate through a series of engaging and educational activities focused on dental health. These activities are designed to teach children about the importance of dental hygiene in a fun and interactive way.
