College Visits and Scholarship Opportunities

Colleges and Universities plan visits to Jackson Community College throughout the year.  This is a good time for JCC students to meet individually with four year college reps.  It is often helpful to bring along an unofficial copy of your JCC transcript when meeting with them.  Other information you may may want to request are application deadlines, transfer student scholarship opportunities, course equivalencies,  transfer guides and specific information on second tier admittance for programs such as teacher education, engineering, nursing and pharmacology.  Additional transfer information can be found here:

JCC College Night -
October 20, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers MACRAO .  JCC is hosting College Night.  Currently, we expect 60 colleges and universities to visit our campus to speak with students who are interested in transferring.

Northern Michigan University -

Cary Vajda will be in the GP Dining Commons Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

 

Grand Valley State University -

Lauren Flanagan will be in James McDivitt Hall on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Eastern Michigan University -

Dan Medrow will be at the University Center in James McDivitt Hall from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, November 4, 2009. Or you can contact Dan via e-mail at daniel.medrow@emich.edu.

Western Michigan University Representative from WMU will be in the George Potter Dining Hall on October 26, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

 

 

Grand Valley State University -

is offering transfer students an opportunity to make a registration plan for the following academic year.  Student will then be able to register from home on their assigned date.  Sign up on line for the priority registration session at GVSU and meet in small groups with faculty, advisors and current GVSU students.  http://www.gvsu.edu/transferorientation/
