Special viewing of Obama inauguration planned at JCC
Celebrate Inauguration Day and the NAACP’s 100th birthday with a community viewing of the presidential swearing-in ceremonies beginning at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 in the Potter Center Dining Room on the Jackson campus.
See live coverage of the inauguration of Barack Obama as the nation’s 44th president on large screen TVs at the Potter Center. Also, it will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, formed in 1909. This special event is presented by JCC, the Jackson County Democratic Committee, Friends of the Democratic Party and the Jackson County Branch of the NAACP.
A chicken luncheon is planned. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students. Reservations are required; please call either the NAACP office, 517.784.3842, or the JCC Potter Center Box Office at 517.796.8600.
