Morse joins JCC's new soccer program

Jackson Community College is pleased to announce that Bill Morse is the new assistant women’s soccer coach for 2008.

Morse has been playing soccer since age 10 and coaching since age 14. He has 30 years of soccer coaching experience at the recreational, club and high school varsity levels. He started the boys’ varsity soccer program for Columbia Central High School in 1995 and continued through the 1998 season. In 1996, Columbia Central won the district title and were runners-up in 1997.  Morse also coached Onsted boys’ and girls’ varsity soccer programs starting in 1999, which was only its second year. He continued as the girls’ coach through the 2004 season and as the boys’ coach through the 2006 season. Morse was chosen as the Lenawee County Coach of the Year for the girls’ team in 2002 and 2004 and for the boys’ team in 2002. He joined the Columbia Central girls’ varsity soccer program in the spring of 2005 as an assistant coach to Andy Hosmer, now JCC’s women’s soccer coach.

Morse played varsity soccer at Lancaster High School from 1979 to 1982 and was team captain his senior year. In 1982 he started as an outside midfielder for Walsh University in Canton, Ohio. He was a member of the Walsh team for two years before an ACL injury kept him from competing at the collegiate level.
