Jackson versus MercyHurst NE CC
72-52 JCC--The team opened up the season with outstanding shooting from the perimeter hitting on 8-17 3 point attempts. Balanced scoring and rebounding was the difference. 3 out of the 4 player that had a double digit scoring night were Freshmen. Dasha Johnson led the way with 15 points and 6 rebounds, followed by Jessica Scott with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Freshmen Courtney Holland and Alyssa Harris rounded out the top scorers with 10 points each.
58-54 Lakeland CC--The Jets built an 11 point first half lead, only to see it dwindle to 4 by half time. Foul trouble and poor free throw shooting plagued the Jets the entire game. The young Jets squad hung in and had a chance to tie the game with less than a minute left, but came up short with a 4 point loss. Brittany Brown was named to the All-Tournament team. The Jets will face University of St. Fancies Wednesday at 7:00 pm
JCC vs. Concordia University

The Jets hosted Concordia University (Ann Arbor) on Saturday and finished the night with a 30 point victory. Courtney Holland led the way with 18 points and 9 rebounds followed be Jessica Scott with 12 points and Barb Clayborn registering 10 points. The Jets are at home again this Monday, hosting the Davenport University Panthers at 5:30 p.m. at the Victor Cuiss Field house.

JCC dropped a game to the sharp shooting Davenport Panthers. The Panthers connected on 11 of 19 three pointer, while JCC converted 2 of 13. Poor free throw shooting also provided problems for the Jets. Barb Clayborn posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards, while Brittany Brown finished with 10 points and 3 assists.

Pressure defense and consistent offensive execution provided the fuel to a 42 point victory against Indiana Tech. The Jets had balance scoring with 6 players reaching double-digits in scoring. Clayborn led the way with 21 points followed by Courtney Holland with 15. Kayla Crockett, Angela Russell, Jessica Scott and Dasha Johnson also hit double digits.

Another good night for the Lady Jets. Patience on the offensive end paid dividends with 4 players reaching double digits. Danielle Powaga had a break-out game with a 15 point effort, while Dasha Johnson, Barb Clayborn and Jessica Scoot provided the remaining punch to the offense.
JCC vs Lake Michigan Community College
JCC 79 Lake Michigan 66
Balanced scoring was once again the recipe for success as the Jets opened with a win against Western Conference foe Lake Michigan. Freshman Ashley Fausneaucht knocked down 5 triples to ignite the second half scoring frenzy for the Jets. The Jets size and shooting became a problem for the smaller, yet quick, Indian squad. The Jets were led in scoring by Dasha "DJ" Johnson with 23 points and 9 boards, Barb Clayborn with 17 points, Fausneaucht with 15 and Courtney Holland with 10. Mickey Hein, Brittany Hartly and Brittany Brown played excellent defense the entire game.
The Jets are 1-0 in the Western Conference and the win brings them to an overall record of 5-2. The Jets travel to Adrian, Michigan this Saturday to take on the Siena Heights Saints. Play begins at 1 p.m.
JCC @ Siena Heights University

The Lady Jets fell on the road to the Siena Heights Saints in a rubber match this past Saturday. The Lady Jets led most of the way, but Siena managed to make a few more plays to pull away in the second half. Barbara Clayborn and Angela Russell contributed much of the offense with DJ Johnson and Jessica Scott contributing a combined 18 points.
The Jets travel to Kalamazoo on Wednesday to take on the KVCC Cougars. Game time is at 7 p.m.
JCC @ Kalamazoo Valley CC

The Lady Jet's trip to Kalamazoo wasn't an enjoyable one as the fell to the 15th-ranked Kalamazoo Valley Cougars. The Jets had difficulty finding consistency on the offensive end of the floor. Dasha Johnson had a monster game pouring in 20 points and snatching 14 rebounds in the loss.
The Jets are now 1-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference standings.
Thunderbay Classic in Alpena, Michigan
JCC versus Muskegon: In the opening game of the Thunder Bay Classic the Lady Jets came out firing only to see a 10 point first half lead turn to a 4 point halftime deficit. In the opening minutes of the 2nd half the Jets again went on the offensive with 10 unanswered points.
The Jets struggled during a 5 minute stretch which proved to be too much to overcome in a 61-55 loss to the Jayhawks.
JCC versus Alpena: The Jets played a complete game against the home-team Lumberjacks. The ladies played with purpose and held Alpena to 18 first half points. Ashley Fausneaucht and Dasha Johnson lit up the Lumberjacks with an inside-outside combo, which resulted in a blowout victory in the consolation game.
Dasha Johnson was chosen for the All-Tournament team.
JCC @ Owens Community College

The Lady Jets left Toledo with a win over the #5 nationally ranked Owens Express. Although the team struggled offensively for the first 30 minutes, freshman Danielle Powaga led the charge (18 points) and brought the Jets with in striking distance with just under two minutes remaining in regulation. Down by one, JCC in bounded the ball with less than 10 seconds left and sophomore Jessica Scott found fellow sophomore Barb Clayborn for a lay up. Clayborn was fouled on the play and finished off the game with an old fashioned 3 point conversion. This victory marked the second time in as many years that JCC has defeated a nationally ranked opponent in the top 5.

The visiting Monarchs made enough plays at the end of the game to spoil JCC's last game of 2008. The Jets led all by 2 1/2 minutes of the contest, but poor free throw shooting through out the contest was too much to overcome. JCC was led by Clayborn with her 4th double-double of the season
JCC vs. Grand Rapids Community College

A close contest at half time (31-33) turned into a 14 point loss to the visiting GRCC Raiders. The opening of the second half was the difference in the game. The Jets missed their first 6 shots, while GRCC extended their lead with three consecutive three-point field goals. The Jets played the game even the remainder of the way, but didn't any closer than 10 points. Clayborn led the Jets with her 5 the double-double.
JCC @ Kellogg Community College

Physical is the best word to describe the contest against the home team Lady Bruins. Kellogg closed out the first half with a 10 point lead, only to see it evaporate in the 2nd half. The Jets played spirited ball and attacked the glass. The Jets attacked the basket hard and went to the free-throw line 40 times, but only converted 20 of 40. Defensive and offensive rebounding carried the day along with sharp-shooting from freshman Anglela Russell with 14 points. Clayborn followed up with her 6th double-double.
