JCC at District E Tournament (L 0-6, L 2-4)
The Lady Jets complete their season with a 2-4 loss to the Kalamazoo Valley Community College Cougars. District E was a tough district this year, both teams that JCC had to face in the tournament Thursday were nationally ranked in the final NJCAA polls. Jackson Community College began the tournament with a 6-0 loss to Muskegon Community College. Five Jets were named to All-Conference teams: Ashley Nieto, Alissa Robison, Jessica Fether, Chelsea McGill and Amber Kuipers. The Jets had a great season, with a 15-17 record in conference play, and a 24-22 overall record.

JCC vs. Glen Oaks Community College (W 5-1, W 13-12)
Game One: Kelsey Adams took the mound against Glen Oaks in the first game. She pitched a great game, allowing only one run. The bats of the Lady Jets were on fire. Ashley Nieto had two singles, Kalie Lamb also had two singles and added a stolen base. Sarah Howard had a double and a single. Alissa Robison smacked a rocket over the left field fence, this was the first homerun by the Jets this year on their own field. The Jets took this one with a score of 5-1.
Game Two: Amber Kuipers and Chelsea McGill shared the mound in this one. Both teams came out ready to hit. Glen Oaks had 15 hits and the Jets had 10, but the Jets took advantage of theirs a little more than Glen Oaks. Ashley Nieto and Bridget Lathers each had two hits. The dominate factor for the Jets in this one was Sarah Howard. Sarah Howard had a single, double and homerun, for four RBIs. The Jets won this one with a score of 13-2.

JCC vs. Grand Rapids Community College (L 6-10, W 7-4)
Game One: This game started off slow, but the Jets rallied in the third to take the Lead 4-0 over GRCC. Krissy Smith started off the rally with a walk, Ashley Nieto had a single and an RBI. Christine Daub a walk. Kalie Lamb then smacked a triple score 2 more runs for the Jets. The Jets managed to pull out two more runs in the 5th inning, but was not able to hold off Grand Rapids. The final score was JCC 6 and GRCC 10.
Game Two: This one was a nail biter all the way to the end. Grand Rapids held onto a 4-1 lead until the 6th inning, when the Jets were able to get two more, making the score 4-3. Grand Rapids wars shut down the rest of the game, but the Jets found the spark they needed in the top of the 7th. Ashley Nieto started off the inning with a single and two stolen bases. Christine Daub then had a single. Kalie Lamb brought both of them home with another single. Alissa Robison then brought Kalie in with a rocket to left field. She stood up with a triple. Jessie Fether hit one hard to right field, the ball was caught, but she got the next RBI. The Jets then held Grand Rapits in the bottom of the seventh, pulling this one out with a final score of 7-4. The Jets will face Glen Oaks Community College at home on Friday.

JCC vs. Lake Michigan College (W 6-1, L 4-5)
Game One: Kelsey Adams took the mound in this one, improving her record to 6-6. Ashley Nieto put up two doubles, Christine Daub a single, Alissa Robison a single and Chelsea McGill a single. Bridget Lathers added two singles, and Jessica Fether a single and a double. This was one was no problem for the Jets, winning 6-1.
Game Two: The second game was not as easy for the Jets. With the rain falling, and hands freezing, the Jets couldn't get moving in this one. Amber Kuipers took the mound and pitched a great game, especially for the weather conditions. The Jets were only able to manage six hits, Lake Michigan had seven. The game went eight innings, but the end result was not what they wanted. The Jets fell to Lake Michigan with a final score of 4-5. The Jets will face Grand Rapids on the road on Thursday, and hope to bring home two conference victories.

JCC vs. Muskegon Community College (W 2-4, W 9-5)
Game One: Amber Kuipers took the mound in this one, with a fantastic performance. Kuipers pitched 7 innings and allowed only 3 runs. Christine Daub, Kalie Lamb, Alissa Robison, Chelsea McGill and Krissy Smith all had hits for the Jets. The game was tied at 2 going into the bottom of the 7th, but a walk-off homerun by Muskegon took this one away from the Jets. The final score was JCC 2 and Muskegon 3.
Game Two: Muskegon did not get so lucky in the second game. JCC came out with determination, nothing was going to stop them this time. Ashley Nieto had two singles, Christine Daub a triple and a double, Elicia Cannarile a single, Alissa Robison and a couple of intentional walks (they did not want to challenge her). Kalie Lamb, Colleen Zimmerman and Chelsea McGill each added a single. The big hitters were Krissy Smith who went 4-4 and Sarah Howard who started a rally with a two run homer.

JCC vs. Lansing Community College (L 14-6, L 4-3)
Game One: This game was a very well fought battle by both sides. The score remained very close. After 6 innings, LCC was on top with a score of 9-6. The seventh inning seemed to be determining factor, but a hard battle to say the least. Ashley Nieto, Christine Daub, Kalie Lamb, Alissa Robison, Elicia Cannarile and Krissy Smith all had one single. Chelsea McGill had two singles and a double, Bridget Lathers had two singles. The final score wound up JCC6 and LCC 14.
Game Two: Kelsey Adams took the mound in this one, delivering another fantastic performance. Kelsey pitched 7 innings, had 4 strikeouts, allowed only 5 hits and 4 runs. JCC put up 9 hits, 16 put-outs, 4 assists and no errors. This game was 3-2 in favor of the Jets going into the top of the 7th. LCC score two in the top making it a 4-3 game. JCC in the bottom of the 7th had a runner on 2nd and couldn't get her around to tie. The score remained JCC3 and LCC 4.

JCC vs. Indiana Tech (W 7-1, W 2-1)
Game One: Kelsey Adams took the mound in this fantastic game for JCC. She pitched an excellent game, pitching 7 innings with 6 strikeouts and allowing no earned runs. She was backed up with great defense and offense. The ladies were taking charge of the base paths with 7 stolen bases. Ashley Nieto, Christine Daub, Alissa Robison and Sarah Howard each had one stolen base, while Kalie Lamb had three. The final score was JCC 7 and Indiana Tech 1.
Game Two: Amber Kuipers took the mound and received her 9th win of the season. She pitched 7 innings, had 2 strikeouts and only one run. Bridget Lathers and Sarah Howard had the hot bats, each with two singles. The final score was JCC 2 and Indiana Tech 1.

vs. Kalamazoo Valley Community College (L 1-8, L 2-7)
Game One: Ashley Nieto pitched in this extremely frigid game. JCC had a hard time getting their bats moving, managing two hits in the game. Bridget Lathers and Kalie Lamb had the two hits. The Jets couldn't quite find their game, losing this one with a a score of 1-8.
Game Two: Amber Kuipers and Kelsey Adams shared the mound in this one. Amber pitching 3 2/3 innings, Kelsey 3 1/3. This one was even colder than the first, making it difficult to even grip the ball. Krissy Smith hit a rocket to right field scoring the only two runs for the Jets this game. The final score was JCC2, KVCC 7. The Jets face off against Indiana Tech in a non-conference matchup away on Wednesday. Conference play will begin again on Thursday at home against the Lansing Community College Stars.

JCC vs. Ancilla College (W 7-2, W 5-0)
Game One: Amber Kuipers took the mound in this one allowing only two runs in seven innings. In this game, the defense was the factor for the Jets. Ashley Nieto had three put-outs and one assist. Bridget Lathers had 4 put-outs. Chelsea McGill had 7 put-outs and Sarah Howard had 1 put-out and 10 assists. The Jets took this one with a score of 7-2.
Game Two: Kelsey Adams pitched the game of the season for the Jets. She pitched innings, and one walk, four strike-outs, allowed only two hits and no runs. Ashley Nieto, Chelsea McGill, Alissa Robison, Kalie Lamb, Colleen Zimmerman and Sarah Howard all backed her up with at least one hit a piece. The Lady Jets took this one 5-0. This gives the Lady Jets a 7-1 record in their last eight games.

JCC vs. Kellogg Community College (L 2-3, W 7-5)
Game One: Kelsey Adams pitched a great game against Kellogg, but the Jets couldn't pull this one out. Kelsey pitched 8 strong innings, striking out seven batters. Jessie Fether hit her third homerun of the season. We had singles by Elicia Cannarile, Jessie Fether, Kayla Kulpinski and Chelsea McGill. Kalie Lamb laid down a fantastic sacrifice bunt with her next at bat being a double. The Lady Jets fell 2-3 in eight innings.
Game Two: The Jets were not about to give up, and came out very strong in the second game. The first inning proved very productive scoring 4 runs on 5 hits. Kalie Lamb hit her second homerun of the season, Elicia Cannarile had a single, Bridget Lathers tow singles, Jessie Fether a single, Ashley Nieto two singles, Sarah Howard two singles and Heidi Herendeen a double. Alissa Robison lit put the sky with a homerun and two doubles. The Jets won with a score of 7-5.

JCC vs. Grand Rapids Community College (W 10-1, W 5-0)
Game One: Ashley Nieto took the mound for the Lady Jets. She allowed only four hits and one run, in a five inning game. The Lady Jets' bas started off a little slow, but lit up in the fourth inning. The inning started with a walk and stolen base by Elicia Cannarile, followed by a single and a stolen base by Kalie Lamb. With still no outs, the Jets kept rolling on with a walk for Sarah Howard, followed by yet another single by Bridget Lathers. Heidi Herendeen kept the inning going with a walk, and a single and 2 RBIs for Kalie Lamb. The final score was JCC 10- GRCC 1.
Game Two: Amber Kuipers took the mound in this one and pitched a shut out. Ashley Nieto had a single, Kalie Lamb two singles, and Jessie Fether a single and a triple. Sarah Howard continued with here perfect season on the field with two put-outs and ten assists. The Jets won with a final score of 5-0.

JCC vs. Glen Oaks Community College (W 9-2, W 12-3)
Game One: Amber Kuipers took the mound for JCC in the first game, delivering her best performance this season. Kuipers only allowed two runs in seven innings. She was backed up by nine runs on nine hits for the Jets. Ashley Nieto pounded out two doubles, and Christine Daub two singles. Kalie Lamb, Jessie Fether, Colleen Zimmerman, Bridget Lathers and Jen Geib all had singles. Elicia Cannarile provided two stolen bases, setting up the Jets for two more runs. The Jets won, with a final score 9-2.
Game Two: Kelsey Adams took the mound in the second game, as the rain began to come down. Adams pitched through the wetness and delivered a fantastic performance. The Jets started off slow, scoring only four runs through the third inning. But, it was just a matter of time, as the bats came to life in the fourth. JCC scored a whopping eight runs in just that one inning. Alissa Robison had her first homerun of the season, Elicia Cannarile had two hits, and Sarah Howard had a double. Kalie Lamb, Lauren Adams, Chelsea McGill and Kayla Kulpinski all chipped in with key hits at the right time. The final score was JCC 12 and Glen Oaks 3.

JCC vs. Muskegon Community College (L 0-9, L 3-10)
Game One: The Lady Jets faced a very talented Muskegon at home on Saturday. The Jets, coming off two very hard fought games with LCC, didn't have enough pep left in their step. The tired Jets couldn't find the gaps, and ordinary plays became very difficult. The Jets fell 0-9.
Game Two: After an excruciating first game loss, the Jets tried to find the pep that they thought they had left. The game faired a little better than the first, but exhaustion took over. The Jets fell 3-10.

JCC vs. Lansing Community College (L 2-4, L 2-10)
Game One: The Jets facet a very dominant conference leader in Lansing Community College. Ashley Nieto pitched in a heart-stopping, hold-your-breath type game. She allowed only four runs in seven innings and did a knock out job for the Jets. Both teams fought extremely hard, but JCC fell short, giving everything they had. The final score was JCC 2- LCC 4.
Game Two: The Jets, feeling very confident after their first game with LCC, came out on fire. JCC had 3 hits and 2 runs in the first inning. Unfortunately, LCC had different plans. The score was tied at two, until the bottom of the 5th inning, when LCC decided to take out all of the frustration on the ball. JCC fought hard, but fell 2-10.

JCC vs. Lake Michigan College (L 3-6, W 9-1)
Game One: The Lady Jets took a tough loss in their home opener. The Jet's bats seemed to take a break until the fourth inning when Bridget Lathers pounded a fantastic double. Alissa Robison and Kelsey Adams each had fourth inning singles, but the rally was pulled short. The Jets fell 3-6.
Game Two: The Lady Jets took their frustration from the first game and pounded the ball in the second. The Jets managed 8 hits. Ashley Nieto had a triple and a single. Christine Daub gave the Jets a double. And singles were handed over by Alissa Robison, Jessie Fether, Bridget Lathers, and two for Colleen Zimmerman. They were very easily willing to redeem themselves handing LMC a loss. The final score was JCC 9- LMC 1.

JCC vs. Central Lakes College (W 7-3)
Amber Kuipers and Chelsea McGill shared this one on the mound. Each of them doing a great job. They were backed up with some great defense and very strong offense. Jessie Fether hit her second homerun of the season. Alissa Robison smacked a triple, along with Kalie Lamb. Multiple singles were hit by Ashley Nieto, Christine Daub, Colleen Zimmerman, Bridget Lathers and Sarah Howard. The Jets won with a score of 7-3. The Lady Jets left Florida with a 7-3 record on the young season.

JCC vs. College of Lake County (W 11-3)
JCC came out to the field, for their last day in Florida, ready to play. Kelsey Adams pitched a fantastic game, capturing her first win. Ashley Nieto hit her second home run of the season. Christine Daub and Elicia Cannarile each had a pair of singles. Kalie Lamb had a double and Bridget LAthere was on fire with three singles. The team won this one in 6 innings, with a score of 11-3.

JCC vs. Lincoln College (L 2-3, W 11-3)
Game One: JCC took a tough loss in this one. The bats were strong, but Lincoln College seemed to have all of the gaps covered. Ashley Nieto delivered two doubles, Jessie Fether a triple, and Colleen Zimmerman a single, but that's all they could put out. The Lady Jets fell 2-3.
Game Two: JCC came back with a vengeance in the second game of the double header. With Amber Kuipers on the mound, there was no keeping the Jets down. The Jets scored 5 runs and went through the entire batting order in just the first inning. Alissa Robison had a double and triple, Jessie Fether had two triples, Chelsea McGill had two singles and Colleen Zimmerman a single. There was absolutely no question the team was fired up. The Lady Jets won the game in just 6 innings with a score of 11-3.

JCC vs. Kaskaskia College (W 11-2, W 6-5)
Game One: Ashley Nieto took the mound in this phenomenal performance. The Lady Jets delivered 14 hits, 5 doubles and 9 singles. As a team, there were 12 putouts and no errors. This is when the players really started to gel. The Jets took this one, with a score of 11-2 in 6 innings.
Game Two: This game kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Amber Kuipers pitched a great game. The Lady Jets trailed 5-3 going into the bottom of the seventh, but they fought to the bitter end. Christine Daub started off the rally with a single, followed bny a fantastic bunt single by Elicia Cannarile. Alissa Robison then reached, loading the bases for Sarah Howard. Howard ripped the ball scoring all three and giving the Lady Jets the victory 6-5. WOW!

JCC vs. John A Logan College (L 4-5, W 5-4)
Game One: Kelsey Adams pitched a very strong game against John A Logan, unfortunately, the Lady Jets were unable to capitalize. Ashley Nieto, Christine Daub and Kalie Lamb each contributed one hit, but that just was not enough. The Jets fell with a score of 4-5
Game Two: Amber Kuipers delivered a stellar performance on the mound. She was backed very nicely with nine hits. Ashley Nieto, Kalie Lamb and Elicia Cannarile each provided one hit, while Bridget Lathers had a pair. To top off the excellent performance, Christine Daub and Jessie Fether each provided long range home runs. JCC came out on top with a score of 5-4.

JCC vs. Daytona State College, Owens Community College (L 1-8, W 8-6)
The Lady Jets have started their season 1-1. Facing off against Daytona State College on Sunday, the Jets fell 1-8. Later that day, JCC Softball saw its first victory of the season against Owens Community College, where the Jets won 8-6. Go Jets!
