Jets' Bream, Harrison named NJCAA All-Americans

Congratulations to Jackson Community College men’s baseball players Dan Bream and Chris Harrison, who have been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-American teams for the 2009 season.

Pitcher Dan Bream, from Coldwater, was named to the NJCAA Division II All-American second team. Bream plans to attend Southern Arkansas University next year and holds JCC records in career strikeouts (109), season wins (10-2009), career wins (12), season innings pitched (71-2009), and career innings pitched (112.2).

Outfielder Chris Harrison, from Saline, was named to the NJCAA Division II All-American third team. Harrison also plans to attend Southern Arkansas University next year and holds JCC records in: games played in a season (54-2009), season hits (81-2009), season triples (7-2009), career triples (8), season home runs (10-2009), career homeruns (15), season RBIs (65-2009), career RBIs (85), season batting average (0.468), career batting average (0.433).

Across the nation, over 10,000 student-athletes suited up to play NJCAA baseball this season, which is the most athletes to participate in any sport in the history of the NJCAA. Of the 10,305 student-athletes that suited up this year in the sport of baseball on 398 teams (DI, II, & III), only 126 earned NJCAA All-America honors.
