Pre-season polls ranks men's baseball team & several returning baseball, softball players
Pre-season baseball and softball team rankings for the National Junior College Athletic Association have been released and include several JCC athletes.
The Jets men’s baseball team was included among the Top 30 in the national NJCAA poll, with a record last season of 27-22. Included among the NJCAA Division II Top Returning athletes are five members of the men’s baseball team: pitcher Zach Gonzalez, Comstock Park; outfielders Tyler Wehner, Blissfield; Christopher Harrison, Saline; and Charles (C.J.) Finch, Homer; and infielder, William Faulkner, Blissfield.
“We have a strong group of players this year, and our hopes our high for this season,” said Rick Smith, head baseball coach.
Jets women’s softball players named to the NJCAA Top Returning athletes are: pitchers Kelsey Adams, Grass Lake, and Amber Kuipers, Holland; second baseman/pitcher Ashley Nieto, Addison; and outfielder Jessica Fether, Waldron.
“We have a phenomenal team. I’m confident we will be one of the teams to beat,” said Kelli Wheeler, head softball coach.
