Softball team signs four
Jackson Community College’s women’s softball team signed four new players recently for the 2010 season.
- Ashley Calhoun, senior at Homer High School, plays first base for the Homer Trojans. She has been named All Conference three years, All District two years, All Region one year, was named Honorable Mention on the Jackson Citizen Patriot Dream Team, team state runners up.
- Tineile Heiler, a senior at Hanover-Horton High School, plays shortstop for the Comets. She has been named All Conference, All District, All Region, 2003 Top 100 Female Athlete, and 2003 Top Regional Female Athlete.
- Courtney McGuire, senior at Shepherd High School near Mt. Pleasant, plays catcher for the Shepherd Blue Jays. She earned four varsity letters her sophomore year, an All Conference Honorable Mention her junior year, was named All Area First Team and All District Team by the Mt. Pleasant Morning Sun, and All Area by the Saginaw News, and Tri-Valley All Conference.
- Paige Winchell, senior at Homer High School, plays pitcher and shortstop for the Trojans. She received All Conference Honors in 2007 and 2008, All District in 2007 and 2008, All Region in 2009, and was named to the Jackson and Battle Creek Area Dream Team in 2008.
