Jets baseball players sign with four-year schools

Three players from Jackson Community College’s baseball team have signed agreements to play with four-year universities, Jets Coach Rick Smith announced.

• Will Faulkner, catcher and infielder from Blissfield, Mich., signed with the Mastodons of Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne for the 2009-2010 season. Faulkner is a sophomore this year at JCC, and in his first season he earned second team All-Conference honors playing shortstop. He also played in the Boise (Idaho) Summer League this past summer.
• Matt Jacobson, a sophomore left-handed pitcher and infielder from North Branch, Mich., signed with the Cardinals of Saginaw Valley State University for the 2009 fall season. Jacobson was 3-3 as a conference pitcher for JCC his freshman year. Jacobson also played in the Boise (Idaho) Summer League this past summer.
• Tyler Wehner, sophomore first baseman and outfielder from Blissfield, Mich., signed with the Lakers of Grand Valley State University for fall 2009. Wehner received First Team All Conference and All-Region honors in his first season with the Jets.
