Economics courses at JCC are designed for business majors who require economics and other students who want to learn more about how the economy works. Both courses are offered during all semesters and are available in classroom sessions at all JCC locations or on line.

ECN 231 Macroeconomics
Explains the operation of free markets, the role of government in the economy, measurement of the national product, inflation and unemployment, monetary and fiscal policy, and economic growth.
ECN 231 transfers to most 4 year schools as an equivalent to their 1st year Macroeconomics.

ECN 232 Microeconomics
Explains the market structure of firms operating in competition and monopoly, labor markets and unions, how income is distributed, current economic problems, international economics, and alternative economic systems.
ECN 232 transfers to most 4 year schools as an equivalent to their 1st year Microeconomics.
